Luxurious Space and Amazing View
This is a fabulous property that has been recently remodeled and is well worth the cost! The view is beyond compare and the space is luxurious. In pleasant weather, you can practically live on the spacious deck. It has separate areas each with their own sliding glass doors.
The property is just off of M119 and is near the town of Harbor Springs. It is hard to believe how quiet and secluded the property feels. Seeing deer and wild turkeys on the property made it feel rural.
The view of Little Traverse Bay and Lake Michigan is just astounding. Both of the upstairs bedrooms look out over the water as do the living room, dining room, and kitchen. The deck that wraps around the back of the house is a great place to enjoy the sounds of the birds, read a book, and grill a meal. We could see distant fireworks in Petoskey and Bay Harbor.
We enjoyed our huge master bedroom with ensuite bathroom. Our adult daughter appreciated having her own bedroom and bathroom. Our adult son said that that the downstairs fold out couch was very comfortable; the mattress base was solid instead of the old style spring mattress supports wherein you can feel the bar. Our brother sleep on the lower bunk in the room downstairs and also found it comfortable.
We didn’t think that we would need a place with an air conditioner when we rented. However, our stay would have been much less comfortable if the house had not had one, due to the heat wave we experienced.
The many parking spaces, WiFi, TV, and cell signal coverage made this property a very convenient place for everyone in our family. We enjoyed the new kitchen appliances and access to the washer and dryer.
The Thorne Swift Nature Center is just down the hill near the water. This has a nice nature walk and a small but beautiful secluded beach on Lake Michigan. The water was cold, but this was a nice escape from the 90 degree weather that we we’re having.
Ed and Karen’s hospitality was great. Ed was flexible with regard to meeting us upon arrival. They had several things in the house to welcome us, such as ground coffee, tea, cookies from a local bakery, and a bottle of wine in the fridge. They also had everything we needed to do our laundry.
I travel for work and find that no hotel is as comfortable as home. Staying here, however, was nicer than home and felt like a real vacation. It will be hard to stay anywhere else in Northern Michigan. My wife and I wished that we didn’t have to leave.
